Akums and NIFTEM-T will collaborate on internships, and research projects with specific objectives focused on new Nutraceutical products and process development
Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management – Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T). Both organisations have taken steps to strengthen industry-academia partnerships, nurture innovation, and enhance skill development in the field of food processing and allied sciences.
Under this agreement, NIFTEM-T students will be provided with internship opportunities at Akums, allowing them to gain hands-on industry experience. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry requirements, preparing students for future careers in food technology and nutraceuticals-related domains.
In addition to internships, Akums and NIFTEM-T will collaborate on research projects with specific objectives focused on new Nutraceutical products and process development. These research endeavours will enable both institutions to leverage their expertise in developing innovative solutions in food processing and technology. To encourage academic excellence, Akums will also provide merit awards to top-ranking and meritorious students from NIFTEM-T. This initiative will help in promoting and awarding talent.
The partnership also aims to extend its support towards promoting startups and their business development, promoting entrepreneurship, and nurturing innovative ideas within the industry.
